Ben Osborne is an Associate and SDL’s BIM Manager in the Atlanta, Georgia office. He is responsible for all BIM/VDC-related aspects of projects, including supervision of production staff, training, content development, and model coordination as well as designing and managing projects. His project portfolio includes faith based and retail structures and as well as SDL’s erection engineering group.
Selected by the Autodesk Revit Development Team as a 6-time Gunslinger|Inside-the-Factory participant, Ben is passionate about helping users become more proficient with Revit software and helping to make Revit software better for users. He leads seminars and classes for architects and engineers where he shares his expertise and lessons learned. He is a recognized expert in the field and a frequent collaborator with the developers of Revit to help guide current feature development and mold future improvements to the software. Besides leading SDL’s in-house Revit education sessions and developing BIM tools, Ben has fully integrated the tools into our daily workflows. He has been with SDL since 2014 and has over 13 years of experience in structural engineering design.
Ben received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Harding University, Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Tennessee Technological University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama and Georgia.
Ben is a member of ACI and SEAOG.
