Ebenezer Baptist Church

Atlanta, Georgia

The 1,600-seat sanctuary features a skylight-filled ribbed roof inspired by African thatched huts and stained glass windows depicting many nations’ struggles for freedom.  The eight “hut-shaped” arches are constructed of structural steel bents that increase in height and width from the front and rear of the structure.  At the widest point, the bent is 150 feet wide and 80 feet high.  The facility contains a fellowship hall, a children’s chapel and areas to accommodate the church’s numerous community outreach programs.
