Design Engineer Intern – Atlanta

Stanley D. Lindsey and Associates, Ltd. (SDL) is seeking a strong Design Engineer Intern candidate.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform calculations for various aspects of concrete and steel building design
  • BIM modelling, data entry, assistance with preparation of construction plans and specifications
  • Researching various building code topics
  • Providing support to other groups within SDL as business needs dictate

 Qualifications:

  • Current Civil Engineering graduate student or undergraduate (minimum Junior) in good standing at accredited university with an interest in structures
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Basic understanding of general concepts of relevant areas of structural engineering
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and basic AutoCAD/Revit skills or willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with structurally engineering design and analysis software a plus

Stanley D. Lindsey and Associates (SDL) is seeking strong candidates for Design Engineer positions in our Nashville and Atlanta offices. 

An SDL Design Engineer is exposed to every aspect of a project from planning and schematic design phases to project close out. Design Engineers are responsible for analyzing and designing structures using various structural engineering software packages (e.g., RAM, ETABS, RISA, SAP2000), assisting in documenting the designs in Autodesk Revit, and assisting with Construction Administration efforts (e.g., job observations, submittal review). In addition, we strive to expose our Design Engineers to as many structural material types as possible including structural steel, concrete (conventionally reinforced and post-tensioned), masonry, and wood.

Design Engineer qualifications include a B.S. in Civil or Architectural Engineering (Master’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering is preferred) and having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (E.I. or E.I.T. status). Design Engineers are expected to become a Professional Engineer once the requirements are met.

Autodesk Revit BIM Coordinator – Charlotte

Stanley D. Lindsey & Associates, Ltd. (SDL) is seeking an experienced Autodesk Revit Structural BIM Coordinator to prepare structural drawings. The position requires a minimum of two years of predominantly Autodesk Revit Structure experience. The successful candidate will produce designs based on structural specifications, engineering notes, sketches and/or detailed drawings and design information according to project standards and procedures. In addition, you will compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for 2D and 3D drawing/modeling preparations. Revit expertise and willingness to work as part of a team will be keys to your success.

This position is responsible for providing a full range of drawing production work for the structural discipline. Responsibilities require production of complete Building Information models utilizing Autodesk Revit from limited verbal and/or written descriptions from SDL’s registered engineers. Individual must be able to demonstrate independent decision making skills in drawing production and project execution. The candidate must have an ability to coordinate BIM and CAD deliverables and successfully correspond with clients or outside personnel. Other duties and responsibilities may also be assigned.
