Dr. Clint Rex is a Vice President in the Atlanta office, where he leads a team of engineers, modelers, and detailers within the erection engineering division of SDL. Since joining SDL in 1996, Clint has transitioned from working on new building projects and renovations to specializing in erection engineering since 2018. His recent projects span from straightforward manufacturing facilities to an intricate spherical concert structure. Clint holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. Clint is a recognized expert in steel structures, lecturing nationwide for the AISC, and has served on various AISC task committees. He currently contributes to the Research Council on Structural Steel Connections. Beyond his professional responsibilities, he actively participates as a Scout leader and directs construction for his church’s annual Bethlehem Walk production.
