Kurt Cady is a Senior Structural Engineer in the Atlanta, Georgia office. Kurt brings a diverse blend of experience in structural analysis, design and forensic cause & origin analysis, design analysis and remedial design in residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and other structures. Kurt has evaluated the structural damage of numerous structures that have sustained damage from perils including blasts, collapse, fire, tornadoes, moisture intrusion, plumbing leaks, wood deterioration, subgrade settlement, tree/vehicle impact, storm surge/flooding and wind. His retrofit/renovation design experience includes repair of structural steel, reinforced concrete, and post-tensioned concrete using carbon‑fiber reinforcement, carbon-fiber-reinforced polymers (CFRP), and structural steel. He has been with SDL since 2015. Prior to that, he worked for a Forensics and Consulting group in Atlanta, Georgia.
Kurt received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering with Structural Emphasis from Auburn University He is a registered Professional Engineer in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. He is a registered Structural Engineer in Illinois
