Mark Hilner is a Principal in the Nashville (Brentwood), Tennessee office. His responsibilities include client relations, design, coordination of projects, and overseeing a team of engineers, modelers, and detailers. Mark has experience with projects from single-story to mid-rise buildings in steel, concrete, masonry, and wood, including new sites, additions, and renovations. His projects have been in the categories of healthcare, office, education, parking, residential, hospitality, and government. Mark has gained particular experience in modifications of existing structures for new medical imaging and treatment technology. He has been with SDL since 1995, and prior to that worked two years for a large electric utility.
Mark received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is trained in ATC 20 Post-Earthquake Safety Evaluations of Buildings and is registered as a Structural Engineer and/or Professional Engineer in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Oregon, Nevada, Tennessee and Washington.
Mark is a member of ASCE, ACI, and AISC. Beyond the office, he is involved as a youth soccer coach, children’s leader at his church, and participates in the ACE Mentoring program for high school students.
