One of Nashville’s largest construction projects to date. The expansion introduced 979 new guestrooms and the Delta—a 4½-acre atrium featuring a 400-seat plantation-style restaurant, New Orleans French Quarter-inspired row buildings, and a lake and river system up to 60 feet wide.
A wind tunnel study was conducted to establish design-wind pressures for the Delta’s complex roof structure, which is completely independent of the surrounding new and existing buildings. The roof itself spans over 4½ acres and was engineered using tied-arch trusses with spans exceeding 200 feet, creating an expansive, column-free space.
